After having face-planted down trail, I came upon this fallen rock, which I now call Face-plant Rock.Double waterfall at Tapeats NarrowsTapeats NarrowsTapeats Sandstone on Bright Angel Trail – Trailside cliffs bring welcome shade alongside a double waterfall along Garden Creek. Tapeats is a fairly horizontal sedimentary rock layer visible throughout the Grand Canyon. It formed 507-509 million year ago in sandy beaches and river bottoms. Bright Angel Creek flows through the Tapeats Sandstone. Roaring Springs Canyon ends at Bright Angel Canyon. North Kaibab Trail bears right and follows the creek. The trail itself is in Tapeats between the Roaring Springs spur trail and the wide curve below the bridge at Manzanita.
